The State of AI: Innovations, Applications and Impacts in Planning
For the last 2 years, AI has been one of the trends recommended in APA’s Trend Report for planners to act and prepare for. The report notes that while the advancements in Gen AI have the potential to greatly enhance public services, there are concerns about cybersecurity and privacy, as well as the environmental impact of the computing power required to support supercomputers. In this event, the status and extent of AI technology especially in North Alabama will be explored. The impact of AI on our local economy and communities will also be discussed.
